In our composition class we where required to write two different types of letters, one to one of our friends and another one to the editor of Eagle news.
I think it was easier to write the letter to my friend because I already knew what I wanted to tell my friend, plus it was in an informal way so felt I could express myself better than in the letter to the editor.
When I start writing I put everything I want and just let go, when I finish I read it again and cross out the things that are out of the topic. While writing the second piece I have to correct errors like slang words and not going out of topic, because in the letter to my friend it didnt really matter because she knows my way of saying things that she would understand plus they were stuff that I wanted her to know too. My weakest point in writing is a little grammar, and the vocabulary; for example I normally have a lot of run on sentences and my vocabulary is not that big so sometimes I wished I know more SAT words to put in my essays.
Normally when I'm writing I think in the language I am writing or speaking but when I dont know how to express something in english I think how would I say it in spanish and then translate it, I think that would be a benefit because instead of not transmiting my message I just translate it and make it fit with the rest of the essay.

Hey, first off cool blog! I didn't know you could put music on your blog, so thanks for the idea. But I completely agree that it was easier to write the first letter to a friend. I also agree that I have a lot of run on sentences too. I don't speak in any other language besides english so I can't really relate to how you can't put sentences together but I am sure it is very difficult! This is just a suggestion, but maybe if you try to say what you want to write down out loud in spanish and then try to say it in english it would help you. But once again cool blog, and see you in class.
I agree that write for a friend is easier, but still I feel that when you have to extend your toughs become more complicated because in my case I always have so many things to say and alot of ideas gos trough my mind and at the end i need to pick some thing but don't come out in the way I wanted originally.
I felt the same way when writing to a friend - completely agree, so much easier. And I wish I had bigger vocabulary as well. When I talk I do not fell like I am so limited because of my vocaulary. But when I write, even in the informal letter, I realized I wish I knew more. Do you feel the same?
Great blog by the way, I enjoyed the music.
Hey, I know there is a lot of comments here saying this but that's also my opinion, haha :)
I also agree that when you are writing to your friend, you already know what you are going to say..you dont have to be thinking and planning what to say and how to say it.
And I loved that you said you wish you knew more SAT words, hahaha!! I super agree I had to memorize 600 words for the SAT and wanted to punch my professor for giving me so much work. now I really wish I knew better and I appreciate all the work he gave me, it was definitely helpful!
good jobbb =)
